Adam
Adam is a solicitor with extensive experience in governance, ethics and complaint handling. His interests include ethics, research translation and system improvement, with consumer advisory experience across mental health, disability and clinical ethics. Adam is motivated by strengthening the connection between research, policy and practice to support safer care.
Annie
Barbara
Barbara has extensive experience in the health sector, with a background in nursing and a PhD in Health Sciences Research, alongside postgraduate qualifications in public health, occupational health and safety, and medical education. Her focus as a People Partner is on equity and access to care, particularly for people in rural and regional communities and those who may feel marginalised within the health system.
Brian
Brian is a retired biochemist with extensive experience across industry, academia and accreditation. His analytical background shapes a strong interest in governance, assurance and evidence‑based decision‑making. As a People Partner, Brian supports meaningful consumer participation to strengthen safety and accountability in health care.
Brigitte
Brigitte brings lived experience as a person living with multiple sclerosis and has been deeply involved in health consumer leadership and advisory work. She is passionate about collaboration and partnership, and values bringing consumers, carers, clinicians and researchers together to support compassionate, respectful and safer care.
Eleanor
Eleanor brings experience in consumer and community engagement, youth advocacy and disability inclusion, supported by studies in law and psychology. Her work as a People Partner reflects a strong interest in patient safety, accessibility and health literacy for young people, people with disability and diverse communities. Eleanor is motivated to support safer, more compassionate care, particularly for patients, families and carers who may face barriers to being heard, respected and supported.
James
James is a long time cancer survivor and consumer advocate with extensive experience representing cancer patients across health services and research settings. He is particularly focused on working with decision makers to improve services, outcomes and experiences for people affected by cancer.
Mary
Mary brings more than 40 years’ experience in education leadership, along with lived experience caring for a family member with dementia. Her contribution as a People Partner focuses on personalised care for people with cognitive impairment and strengthening partnerships between health services and carers to support safer, more compassionate care.
Natalie
Nicole
Nicole is a registered nurse, carer and patient with experience across public and private health systems. With postgraduate study spanning aged care, leadership and governance, including a PhD in case management, her work as a People Partner centres on clinical governance, system capability and data informed practice.
Jane
Jane has a background in commercial market research and senior management, including work that informed major public safety initiatives. Following a serious illness requiring intensive care and rehabilitation, she became an active consumer representative. Jane is committed to ensuring patients are recognised as individuals and supported as active partners in safety, care and decision‑making.
John S
John is a long‑standing advocate for people affected by cancer and chronic disease, with extensive experience in health policy, clinical trials and research. His contribution as a People Partner reflects a strong systems and advocacy perspective, with a focus on improving care through meaningful consumer involvement.
John T
John has partnered with us as a consumer representative since 2011. His background in senior leadership and organisational decision‑making informs a systems‑focused perspective on safety and governance. As a People Partner, John contributes thoughtful insight into how organisations can strengthen decision‑making to better support safe care.
Zoe
Zoe became a health consumer advocate following significant family health experiences across paediatric and adult health services. Her work is informed by strong insight into the challenges faced by culturally and linguistically diverse patients, carers and families, particularly in relation to communication, health literacy and informed decision‑making.
