Medication safety updates

The following table is a repository of information for NSW Health clinicians focusing on medication safety issues that may pose a risk to NSW Health patients or services. This includes supply disruptions, recalls, discontinuations, and current or emerging safety concerns.

Where a shortage involves a medicine listed on the NSW Medicines Formulary, any substitute(s) specified on this page are considered Formulary-approved for use during the shortage period.

This table is not a comprehensive list of all medicine shortages, discontinuations or recalls reported nationally and may not be applicable to clinicians outside of NSW Health. For further information, refer to the Therapeutic Goods Administration Medicine Shortage Reports Database and safety updates.
