Perinatal Safety Education

Perinatal Safety Education Home

The Perinatal Safety Education modules are available in My Health Learning.

Perinatal Safety Education is designed to improve the safety and quality of maternity care by facilitating and promoting a collaborative approach to assessing, detecting, escalating and managing clinical deterioration in maternal, fetal and newborn conditions.

Perinatal Safety Education is an integral part of the Deteriorating Patient Education program.

Human factors have been embedded into this education to:

  • Increase the knowledge and awareness amongst clinicians, and
  • Provide strategies to potentially reduce human error in clinical practice.

Perinatal Safety Education consists of two pathways

  1. Fetal Safety Education, and
  2. Maternal Safety Education.
