Education for all staff (clinical and non-clinical) is available to support the recognition, management and escalation of the deteriorating patient. The education is divided into three tiers;
- Tier 1: Between the Flags awareness training for all staff
- Tier 2: Specialised training for all frontline clinicians in the early recognition, initial management of deteriorating patients and escalation of care
- Tier 3: Training for staff providing Rapid Response service.
A blended learning approach is used. ELearning modules are available on HETI Online and face-to-face workshops are coordinated by individual local health districts (LHD).
NSW Health staff responsible for providing the face-to-face education can register for regular updates.
The Tier 1 and Tier 2 education is tailored based on the individual's professional role and the patient/client group for whom they provide direct patient care. You can click the links below to find out more about the learning pathways for Tier 1 and Tier 2 education.
